Friday, July 3rd, 2009---KABOOM TOWN FIREWORKS DISPLAY--- (Addison, TX)
Addison’s most explosive party of the year. The dazzling 30-minute fireworks show is choreographed to music and a live radio simulcast on 100.3 JACK FM. The nationally-recognized fireworks show can be seen from anywhere in Addison, including the Addison Circle Park watching party, many of Addison’s 170 restaurants, 22 hotels and more. Plus there is great food, live music and the spectacular Cavanaugh Flight Museum Warbird Flyover with live narration on KRLD AM 1080. Rated one of the top places to watch fireworks in the country by the American Pyrotechnics Association, USA Today and the Wall Street Journal. Stay after the fireworks show for a free showing of The Raiders of the Lost Ark. Frisco Freedom Fest at Pizza Hut Park beginning at 4:00 p.m. marks its eighth year as the city's premier, signature event! Just like the community, Frisco's July 4th celebration continues to grow! All the family favorites are back with Party in the Plaza, featuring Community Stage, Children’s Expo, Hometown Hero Exhibit, Taste of Frisco and the soccer match this year between FC Dallas and the New York Red Bulls beginning at 8:00 p.m. – plus the biggest fireworks extravaganza in North Texas starting around 9:50 p.m. Pizza Hut park is offering some post fireworks entertainment by Lone Star Attitude, the ultimate tribute band to Texas sound.
Saturday, July 4th, 2009---FAIR PARK FOURTH (Dallas, TX)
North Texas’ largest Independence Day celebration – the Dr Pepper Snapple Group FAIR PARK FOURTH -- moves to the newly renovated Cotton Bowl this year with larger and higher fireworks, more games and more concessions! On Saturday, July 4, 2009, from 4:30 – 10 p.m., this family friendly event will feature a national-class fireworks program and a patriotic presentation featuring the Dallas Wind Symphony, free admission to all the museums, kids activities, musical performances and plenty of July 4th food favorites! Fair Park Fourth is free and open to the public.
Fireworks by Grucci, one of the nation’s premiere fireworks pyrotechnics firms and “America’s First Family of Fireworks,” has produced unforgettable fireworks programs for the Olympic Games, Statue of Liberty Centennial, New Year’s Eve Celebrations in New York City and six consecutive Presidential Inaugurations.
The fireworks will be synchronized to choreographed music with live broadcast on WRR 101.1 FM. Viewing areas with sound will be located in the Cotton Bowl only.
The Dallas Wind Symphony will perform a patriotic music concert at 8:30 p.m., featuring the Dallas Wind Symphony, the famed Hell Cats (who began 220 years ago during the American Revolution) from the United States Military Academy at West Point and powerful baritone Alvy Powell, who sang at President Ford’s funeral and has performed the role of Porgy in the Gershwin opera Porgy & Bess over 1,100 times at the world’s elite opera houses.
Also, the various Fair Park museums will offer free admission from 4:30 – 7:30 p.m. The Texas Skyway Ride will be $5 per person or $20 per carload (cash only). Swan Rides also will be available for $10 per boat (up to 3 people per boat). NOTE: Due to construction, the Esplanade fountain will not be operating, and the Hall of State, Aquarium and Planetarium will be closed.
Dr Pepper will bring its Club23 traveling exhibition loaded with free samples and coupons, video games, deejay and dance floor, plasma TVs and more.
