Merriam-Webster just made its  2009 updates to its eleventh edition of the collegiate dictionary. It includes a few words that have been in the mainstream for several years. Case in point:  frenemy (think Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie), staycation (staying home for vacation), and carbon footprint (what we all affect every time we turn on all of devices).

Searching for a new job? Consider a green-collar job. Eating better? Make sure it's cardioprotective. Looking for a new book to read? Check out some fan fiction. How about listening to some music? Try reggaeton.

For all of the nearly 100 new words, thumb though the actual book, which has been reprinted to include the acai and goji berries as well as sock puppet, or go online to Merriam-Webster.
