Blurb.com is an online publisher and is holding a contest, which is essentially based on popularity, of photography books published by Blurb in 2009. The competition is in the following three categories:  family, travel, and pets.

Public voting is held first. During public voting, authors can ask family, friends, and the entire online community to vote for their book.

The final round of voting is judged by a panel of experts on the following criteria, which is weighed equally:

  • cover design
  • photography
  • the book's subject matter
  • page layout
  • editing and sequencing
  • emotional impact of the book

Public voting will be held from October 22 until November 9, 2009 at 11:59 p.m. Blurb will announce the winners November 12.

Prizes include a grand prize in each of the three categories of $3,000 cash as well as one $1,000 runner up prize in each of the three categories. The other finalists will receive a Blurb gift card worth $50.
