The Los Angeles Times THE ENVELOPE Screening Series played host to Battlestar Galactica on June 4. The event concludes on June 9 and showcases other notable shows like The Shield, Rescue Me and The Cleaner. Battlestar Galactica was the only science fiction show representing for the genre, garnering a nomination for Program of the Year, for the 25th Annual TCA (Television Critics Association) Awards.
In attendance were Battlestar Galactica: The re-imagined series creator(s)/Executive Producer(s) Ronald D. Moore and David Eick. Also in attendance were Mary McDonnell (President Laura Roslin) and Edward James Olmos (Admiral William Adama). If there was ever a science fiction show worthy of representing all others, it would have to be Battlestar Galactica. The show won a Peabody Award for its outstanding storytelling.
Battlestar Galactica is already being considered a strong contender for the 2008 Emmy Awards, with Mary McDonnell being lauded for her role as a leading actress in a drama series. Here's hoping Battlestar Galactica (and its Actors), finally get well-deserved props for bringing Sci Fi up a few notches and restoring fan-faith in solid science fiction programming.
