The National Hurricane Center designated a tropical wave that moved off of Africa Saturday, as Tropical Depression #2. As of the most current Advisory issued at 5pm today, the depression was moving west with winds sustained at 30mph. For this to become the first named storm Ana, the disturbance needs to pick up 9mph, in order to sustain the 30mph winds which is forecasted to occur. As of now, it's fighting some dry air so this should not grow as intensense, so quickly in the short term forecast. So what is probably the most important part of where is where exactly this storm will go? Right now the forecasted path or "cone of uncertainty" takes this "wave" 5 days from now approximately near the Northern Leeward Islands as a 60mph Tropical Storm. It is very hard to forecast where this will go since it's so weak right now. As always this path could change very quickly with little to no warning.
