Discount Starbucks coffee for same day customers

A special summertime Starbucks promotion began on June 30. When Starbucks Coffee customers make any purchase prior to 2pm, they can save their receipt for a discount on any grande-sized iced drink -- as long as it is on the same day after 2pm.

The discount? You pay $2 (plus tax) for any Grande iced drinks instead of the normal price, which is often between $3 and $4. For example, an iced grande vanilla Frappucino usually costs $3.80 while an iced grande mocha runs about $3.50.

This “Treat Receipt” promotion is good at any Santa Cruz area store, including the two located at 41st/Soquel in the Safeway shopping plaza (one is inside the grocery store, while one is in the plaza near Panda Express). Hours vary at different locations across Santa Cruz, Scotts Valley, Capitola and Soquel. For example, the Starbucks at 2740 41st Ave. Suite 100 (in the plaza, not in the supermarket) opens very early in the morning: hours are Mon-Fri 4:30am-10pm, Sat 5:30am-10pm, Sun 6am-9:30pm.
