Tequila shots - Green Iguana and San Patricios
Tequila shots - Green Iguana and San Patricios

After a few weeks of foregoing the traditional Saturday tequila shots, they are back!

Each of these two shots use liqueurs – it's liqueur month at Examiner.com.

Green Iguana

A few weeks ago it was the Black Iguana. Here is its cousin, the Green Iguana.

Ingredients

  • 1/3 oz 1800 Silver tequila
  • 1/3 oz Svedka vodka
  • 1/3 oz Midori melon liqueur
  • Squeeze of lime juice

Directions

  1. Combine all ingredients into a cocktail shaker with ice.
  2. Shake and strain into a shot glass.

San Patricios

This shot is dedicated to the predominantly Irish-American group of soldiers who defected from the U.S. Army to join the Mexican cause during the Mexican-American War of 1846-1848. They called themselves the St. Patrick's Battalion; in Spanish, the San Patricios.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 oz Cabo Wabo tequila reposado
  • 1/4 oz Bushmills Irish whiskey
  • 1/4 oz Bailey’s Irish cream liqueur

Directions

  1. Combine all ingredients into a cocktail shaker with ice.
  2. Shake and strain into a shot glass.
