The Phoenix Suns announced today that they have signed 2009 second round draft pick Taylor Griffin.

The 6-7 forward was selected 48th overall by Phoenix out of the University of Oklahoma, where he played alongside his younger brother Blake Griffin, the first overall selection of the draft by the Clippers.

Griffin participated in the Las Vegas Summer League with the Summer Suns averaging 6.2 points, 3.0 rebounds, 1.0 steal, and 0.8 assists in 23.8 minutes per game over the team's five contests.  He struggled with his shot all but one game, shooting just 31.3 percent from the field (10 for 32).

As a senior at Oklahoma, Griffin started all 36 games for the Sooners and averaged 9.6 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 1.3 steals in 30.0 minutes a game.  He shot 53.6 percent from the field, as well as 35.7 percent from behind the three-point line.

Terms of the contract have not yet been released.
