There is a little known place that has a huge celebration each year and you will never guess the name of the celebration or where it is held. How about a few hints then we’ll see if you got it.

Not Krypton but not Smallville either.
What’s red and blue and flies faster than a speeding bullet?
Surely you got it by now.
No? Okay then the celebration is the Superman festival in Metropolis, Illinois. Yes, it is a real place and it draws thousands of fans from all over. Each June the 11th through 14th Metropolis hosts vendors, special guests, fan competitions, carnival rides, tours and loads of fun for the Superman enthusiasts. And the festival recently broke the Guiness Book of World Record for the most people dressed up as Superman in one place.

This years special guests included; Justin Hartley (Green Arrow-- from the CW network’s Smallville), Phil Morris (Martian Man hunter -- from the CW network’s Smallville), Noelle Neil who played Lois Lane in the old Adventures of Superman, and Beverly Washburn from Superman and the Mole Men. The town is situated on Interstate 24 halfway between Nashville, Tennessee and St. Louis, Missouri, while Paducah, Kentucky is only 10 miles away.

Even if you’re not a fan of Superman, you are sure to find something you like there
