Lake County take a snow day
Weather forecasters have been predicting a major snow storm for days, so it was no surprise to wake up to a world of white snow in Lake County this morning. According to news reports, northern Illinois, near the Wisconsin border may get up to a foot

of snow.
Just looking out the front window, it appears that we are over halfway there and the snow is still falling.
Heavy snow is causing hazardous driving conditions. The Illinois State Department of Transportation has implored people to stay off the roads unless absolutely necessary. Hopefully you can heed that advice, work from home or take the day off and spend the day at home.
The College of Lake County has announced on their website that the college is closed today, Friday, December 19 at all locations. Final exams scheduled for Friday will be held on Saturday.
Chicago O’Hare Airport has announced 300 cancellations, so before making a trip to the airport, call to verify that the flight is still scheduled.
Milwaukee’s General Mitchell international Airport closed down runways Thursday night but a airport spokesperson predicted that flights should resume tonight.
Before you venture out the door, make sure that your destination is open.
There is a lot of snow outdoors. People with heart attack risk or who are not in peak physical condition should think twice about snow shoveling. Even people in great physical condition should take safety precautions when clearing out the snow to avoid injury.
