1910: Former Red Wings goalie Wilf Cude (1933-34) was born on this day in Barry, Wales. Cude played 29 games for Detroit and had a record of 15-6-8, a goals against average of 1.52 and four shutouts.
1953: Former Red Wings defenseman Milan Chalupa (1984-85) was born on this day in Oudolen, Czech Republic. Chalupa played 14 games for Detroit and had five assists.
1962: Former Red Wings right winger Kevin McClelland (1989-91) was born on this day in Oshawa, Ontario. McClelland played 64 games for Detroit and scored four goals and five assists for nine points.
1972: Former Red Wings right winger Mike Knuble (1996-98) was born on this day in Toronto. Knuble played 62 games for Detroit and scored eight goals and six assists for 14 points. He was a member of the 1998 Stanley Cup team.
