1907: Former Red Wings defenseman Walter Buswell was born on this day in Montreal. Buswell played 140 games for Detroit (1932-35) and scored four goals and nine assists for 13 points.

1927: Former Red Wings left wing Marty Pavelich was born on this day in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario. Pavelich played 634 games for Detroit (1947-57) and scored 93 goals and 159 assists for 252 points. He was a member of the 1950, 1952, 1954 and 1955 Stanley Cup teams.

1934: Former Red Wings defenseman Al “Junior” Langlois was born on this day in Magog, Quebec. Langlois played 82 games for Detroit (1963-65) and scored two goals and 18 assists for 20 points.

1956: Former Red Wings goalie Claude Legris was born on this day in Verdun, Quebec. Legris played four games for Detroit (1980-82) and had a record of 0-1-1 and a goals against average of 2.64

1979: Current Red Wings defenseman Brad Stuart was born on this day in Rocky Mountain House, Alberta. Stuart has played 90 games for Detroit (2008-present) and has scored four goals and 15 assists for 19 points. He was a member of the 2008 Stanley Cup team.
