Cara K. Joyce is forty-nine years old, and she understands and seeks new information about the aging and longevity processes from medical, psychological and personal standpoints. Ms. Joyce has a MS in pharmacology and has participated in research at Yale, Duke and other universities and institutions in fields as diverse as neuropharmacology, embryology, cardiology, oncology and epidemiology. Her original research with receptor expression in oligodendrocytes is considered fundamental to the field. As well as a researcher, she has lived the adventurous life of an eighteen -wheeler driver, a philosophy/religion student, an airport supervisor, a movie extra, and a volunteer at a state mental hospital. Ms. Joyce aspires to live thirty years longer than her ninety-three year old grandmother, from whom she received her best education.
