In one of the best-ever Olympic pair skating moments, Jamie Sale and David Pelletier skated to the theme from "Love Story," at the 2002 Winter Games in Salt Lake City, UT.  The judges' marks sparked a controversy which resulted in both the Russian team of Elena Berezhnaya and Anton Sikharulidze, and the Canadian team of Sale and Pelletier being awarded the gold medal.

Despite the judging scandal, Sale and Pelletier's long program remains a favorite because of the team's obvious rapport, their choice of music and their high quality technical and artistic ability.
