The Nintendo DSi is definitely the newest and coolest device in handheld gaming today.  This little gadget has so many things to talk about and has a variety of different specs.  The subject for today’s discussion: its camera.

Taking pictures with handheld devices other than cameras is definitely in.  Just take a look at cell-phones, almost all of them have a camera.  Most people have cell-phones, so what’s the big deal about the Nintendo DSi having one?  Well, there are obvious reasons why having a camera on your gaming gadget is cool: it hasn’t been done before, and its just plain nifty.

The DSi comes with two built in camera lenses: one on the top of the gadget and one on the inside.  The one on the top allows you to take pics of things, people, etc., and the one on the inside allows you to take pictures of yourself, by using the bottom screen to view yourself for just the right shot.  The low-res cameras aren’t made for serious photography, but rather, for the fun and goofy built-in editing software that comes with the DSi.  The editing programming comes equipped with a Color Filter, Mirror Filter, a Frame Option, as well as plenty others.  This is just one of the many new changes made to the DS lite, and is without a doubt a big improvement.  So no matter where you are in the city, you can stop gaming for a moment to take that perfect picture.
