This time of year, many teens begin to experience stress. Whether their stress is from pressures of school, family issues, relationship problems or a combination of factors, teens are often experiencing anxiety, frustration, sleep issues, fatigue and muscle aches and pains as a result of the stress on their bodies. Yoga helps relieve stress and is an excellent source of exercise. The practice of yoga reinforces healthy habits and stresses healthy living in a non-competitive, supportive environment.

A new yoga class, exclusively for teens, is available at the Green Yogi. The Green Yogi is an eco-chic yoga studio located in North Manhattan Beach, easily accessible from the 405. The studio focuses on Power Yoga, described as a “transformational practice that links breath to movement, building strength, flexibility and balance in body and mind. It is different than other forms of yoga in that it is high-energy, music-filled Vinyasa flow classes.”

The teen class is a fun, music filled class that teaches teens the basics of yoga. All levels of teens are welcome and it is a donation-based class. The class is offered on Sundays at 12:30 to 1:30p.m.
