For any child or caregiver public school can be extremely hard for your kids. Have you had issues with the teachers, school officials and aides not being respectful of you or your child's needs and individual learning abilities regardless of the laws?

Never fear, there is another solution here!

In Kansas, there is a Virtual School option for any Kansas resident and student.
Thanks to K¹² and their award-winning curriculum, individualized to bring learning alive, we get kids thinking big. Every subject is delivered online, with hands-on activities, plus books and support from expert teachers.

Benefits and features include:
The exceptional K¹² curriculum
Support from Kansas-licensed teachers
An active, supportive school community

In a recent Blog Talk Radio show, the many benefits of Virtual Schooling were discussed in relation to traditional brick and mortar and homeschooling curriculum's and teaching settings.
Virtual schooling can be a huge time saver and stress reliever for the parent or caregiver and can relax and relieve the child who has a need for shorter learning periods or a less hectic class setting.

All classes are taught online via computer (which can be supplied by the school) and can be taken at the child's pace. Often the special need child will begin to pull ahead in peer level academics through virtual schooling. Social situations are not ignored with school sponsored trips and meet ups in different areas, but rather than just class mates, family members and their siblings are also involved making for a more robust age and learning dynamic which is somewhat reminiscent of the old one room school house learning styles.

Interested in a full-time, tuition-free* public school option for your child?
The K¹² program is available to Kansas students in grades K-8 through the Lawrence Virtual School.
Learn more at our Union Station Education Showcase. With only a month left to enroll your K-8 student for the fall (enrollment closes July 31), this is your best chance to get the information you need to make an informed decision about enrolling in the Lawrence Virtual School for the fall!
