Rainfall does not seem to cease on a weekend that people would like to be outside barbecuing or maybe golfing for a few hours. Considering that the U.S Open in Bethpage has experienced rain delays for the past few days, it makes it difficult to simply be somewhat interested sitting on the couch pretending to watch it with your father or grandfather!.jpg)
Fathers Day is a holiday geared toward men but this year everyone’s plans to be outside on a beautiful summer day “bonding” with their fathers, stepfathers, and dads of all kinds, have all been canceled. Traveling out to the Hamptons seemed like a good idea maybe a week ago but having family for a barbecue in the rain never works, not to mention anything near the beach.
Instead find things to do inside even if it means traveling for a delicious dinner. Take your loved ones to the Harbor Bistro in East Hampton and you will be pleased to see they have some Father’s Day specials. If the rain holds out take your dad to Poxabogue in Bridgehampton and keep your dad's US Open frenzy satisfied.
There’s not much anyone can do with such horrendous weather. Make the best of this Father’s Day and try not to go crazy being inside with each other all day. Get dad out of the house for a little and let him check out what's new in town. After all you may see Alexa Ray Joel walking with father Billy Joel through Sag Harbor.
Tip: For a last minute gift, stop at a book store and pick up a novel dad can read this summer.

What's In and Out for the Day:
In- Blasting the new Dave Matthews Band CD while sitting in traffic in Southampton through Bridgehampton.
Out- A landscaping truck driving through puddles on the back roads so your car can be covered in mud.
