UMBC won its second consecutive America East Conference game, clinching a spot in the AEC Tournament as a result.

The Retrievers (12-3-0, 3-2-0 AEC) used three goals from junior forward Levi Houapeu, who is on a tear in the past 10 days, to defeat Albany, which remains winless on the season.

Earlier this week UMBC beat Boston University on the road, ensuring that there was no hangover after the Retrievers surprisingly lost to Longwood on Homecoming.

UMBC -- which has the best overall record in the conference but is only in fourth place -- goes on the road to face second-place Hartford (6-6-2, 3-1-1) on Wednesday. The Retrievers will need to steal a win on the road if they have any hope of reclaiming what once seemed an inevitable regular season conference crown.
