For Martin, this will be his third stint as host as he previously done in 2001 and in 2003, while Baldwin will get his first experience. "I'm happy to be to be co-hosting the Oscars with my enemy Alec Bladwin", Martin jokingly said in a statement.
"I don't play the banjo, but I'm thrilled to be hosting the Oscars--it's an opportunity of a lifetime", added Baldwin.
Earlier this year, Hugh Jackman hosted the Oscars and earned praised for his comical wit and timing. He was approached several weeks ago if he be willing to do it again, but declined, saying that "while he looks forward to doing it again in the future, he didn't want to do it two years in a row."
The ceremony will happen at Hollywood's Kodiak Theatre on March 7, 2010.
