Newly elected Screen Actors Guild president actor Ken Howard was selected by the AFL-CIO to serve as a member of the council on Monday, where voting was held in Washington D.C.--replacing the man he succeeded back on September 24 as SAG president, Alan Rosenberg.
The council is the governing body, comprised of three national officers and 51 VP's from various sectors of the labor community.
"It is a priviledge to represent the Screen Actors Guild members on the executive council and to work closely with the leaders of the national labor movement," Howard said in a statement.
The council also also passed a resolution honoring Rosenberg for his service on the council and for SAG's support of the Employee Free Choice Act and other issues of importance to working families.
