Education jobs grow at healthy clip

Despite cuts in some K-12 districts, education is among the industries that grew at a healthy clip in 2008, according to Kate Lorenz of CareerBuilder.com 

Teaching jobs will continue being added in the areas of kindergarten and preschool. In addition, special education teachers are always in demand, and there will also be the need for teacher assistants for special needs children.
 
There are other areas that have been hiring, including government (surprise surprise!);  health care; leisure/hospitality; mining/oil and gas extraction; and business services, especially engineering, computer systems and consulting.
