After last weekend’s London get-together of Emma Bunton, Geri Halliwell, Melanie C, and Melanie Brown, news stories around the world keep on reporting on the Spice Girls reunion part two.
After a very successful run of concerts around the world (and an abrupt end to the tour) the Spice Girls went on their separate ways to have more babies, get into fashion, write children’s books and expand their entertainment resumes all over the spectrum.
The girls haven’t really touched on the subject of their working together since the tour ended in the spring of 2008, but fans keep asking for the DVD of the successful run. The only answer they got from the record companies was that the shows were never filmed; so no DVD.
Well, Geri Halliwell appeared on UK talk-show This Morning to talk about her UN activities recently and her trip to Nepal, and suddenly the conversation went back to the Spice diner last week. The comment was rather mild, and the anchor was simply asking how the girls cope with just wanting to meet up for dinner and having everyone think it’s a reunion.
These were her words: “It’s a bit of both. Fundamentally we are friends first…We always talk about creative plans and possibilities, definitely.”
And did they talk about plans at the diner? “Yeah. Right now, to be honest, we are gathering information.” Information for what? She wouldn’t say.
Many are speculating that the girls will indeed release the Live DVD or perhaps tape one last show in Wembley Stadium to have a DVD to release (like it was reported while they were touring). But others, acknowledging the absence of Posh, say that perhaps the other four do have projects lined up. Victoria, who is in America working on her fashion line, has said many times after the reunion that she knows what she’s good for and she’s put her microphone away for good.
That and Mel B’s tweet when the girls met: "Spice Girls, stadiums?????????? Had dinner with the amazing mel c emma and geri I love them so much."
Interesting…Until Geri speaks again the fans will need to hold their breath.
Remember that through this talk-show Geri has divulged very official and important Spice Girls information in the past, including the release of their last single “Headlines (Friendship Never Ends)”.
