Playwright Seamus offers a play based on DC grounds. Skywriter (allegedly the snappiest and quirkiest thing he’s ever written) is a sixty minute play based on the DC school system. Frank Fletcher, an English teacher in a troubled Washington DC school deals with a disorganized and crumbling infrastructure, violence among students and those who have other priorities above learning. In consequence to a traumatic accident, Frank believed he has become a superhero named Skywriter, who spends his nights patrolling neighborhood rooftops. When a new student teacher discovers his alternate persona, Frank is to figure out whether Skywriter is a pigment of his imagination or a needed force to do good for the city.
The play written by Seamus is presented alongside the Angry Young Theater Company during the Capital Fringe Festival, which goes from July 9th up until the 26th of the month.
The Festival, a local outlet that allows artists to showcase their self-produced works and helps them with exposing to numerous media outlets, is a fresh DC-based artist-developed group that although being in the form of a festival every year also holds Training Factories, which cater to both young and adults.
