If Adam Lambert’s Rainbow Brite CD cover for his new album For Your Entertainment is to say anything, he is after Rihanna.
Don’t think so? Days ago Rihanna’s album cover for her new album Rated R came out and although it’s a darker (not gayer) photo, and a little bit more Grace Jones, the two are rather similar. The hand on the top left corner of the album covers, and the edginess that is being fed into their new personas (Adam as a rock star post-Idol, and Rihanna post-Chris Brown) is rather similar. Again, if the two were held against each other to win the gayest album cover award, it wouldn’t be Rated R who wins.
The two also chose to spice up their images this fall with ballads: “Time for Miracles” and “Russian Roulette”. Although they both have singles coming out before the albums; “The Wait is Ova” for Rihanna and “What Do you Want From Me” for Lambert. The latter a song penned by P!nk.
The funny thing about this whole thing is that both albums are slated to be released on the same say, November 23rd. Other albums currently scheduled for the same release-week: She-Wolf by Shakira, Fame Monster by Lady Gaga, I Dreamed a Dream by Susan Boyle, Sweet 7 by Sugababes and Timbaland Presents: Shock Values II by Timbaland.
That should be interesting.
Which album are you sure to get the day/week it comes out? Well, if you are after Adam or Rihanna, make sure you pick up the right cover.
