After 19 years of great music, country music duo Brooks & Dunn have decided to go their separate ways.
Kix Brooks and Ronnie Dunn had individual success in the 1980s, but it wasn't until a record company executive paired them up on 1990 when their careers took off.
Over a span of nearly 20 years, the duo has released 10 studio albums, two Greatest Hits CDs, and a Christmas album. From 1992 to 2006, the duo claimed the 'Best Duo' title at the Country Music Association Awards Fest, with the exception of 2000, when Montgomery Gentry claimed the prize.
Brooks & Dunn were also the top duo in the eyes of the Academy of Country Music from 1991 to 1997, and again from 2001 t0 2008. They claimed the "Entertainer of the Year" title in 1995, 1996 and 2001. Their debut album, "Brand New Man," won album of the year in 1995, and the smash hit "Boot Scootin' Boogie" took home single of the year. In 2005, the smash single "Believe" took album of the year.
The duo only took home a couple of Grammys over the years, the first in 1993 for "Hard Workin' Man," and the second for "My Maria" in 1996.
