Arts and Entertainment on the Island of Maui

I am starting to realize the impact that we have on our environment, and what that really means in the bigger picture.

The model of the future is constantly being reinvented by the INTERNET and my computer definitely gets more time with me that friends or family.

I am one of these people who, when presented with a newspaper in print, go straight to the entertainment section, and left the rest on the table near by, or hand it off to the person on my left or right.

I have been like this all of my life.  Living on Maui for the past couple of decades that part of the paper that holds my interest, and the section that all the tourists on Maui wish they would have known about, it The Maui Scene.  It comes out as an insert in The Maui News, and Thursdays can never roll around fast enough for me.

I know that there are men who can relate to this with the sports section.  The sports section provides entertainment for millions, as to the sporting events themselves.  You would have to see me at a horse race to understand, but who of us have not eaten pizza in a sports bar with three large screen TVs and watched golf, baseball, and football simultaneously?

Entertainment is so encompassing.  Vacation plans are filled with ideas of how to be entertained or enjoy oneself. 

I woke up this morning with thoughts of entertainment, and want to know what entertains you.  Reading good fiction?  That is entertainment.  I could make a good case for goggling on the INTERNET as a form of entertainment.   When you really think about it, watching CNN news is a type of entertainment, or is it?

I have so many, being I have been a loved of music, the arts, movies, activities, eating out, and the list goes on and on.  If I am really honest about it, I find relationships to be a form of entertainment.  I know that I have attended classes for enjoyment.

Our time is precious in life, I know you have heard me say it before.  I have often thought that I had a higher purpose in life, but until I figure it out, I want to be entertained.  Give me a concert of live music, let me watch my favorite reality show, swim and snorkel on the beach, eat out dinner with a friend, as long as their conversation is entertaining, I enjoy the evening.  The music is great, and I am entertained.

It is an exciting time to be alive.  For all of us who entertained the Internet age, we have so much control over our information systems, and what we do and don't do.  This is your moment to take control of your media experience, if you will
