Flying Without Fear

While flying is generally considered one of the safest forms of transportation, many people suffer anxiety when flying. Virgin Atlantic aims to cure that with an iPhone app that brings their Flying Without Fear course, which they boast has a 98% success rate, to the iPhone and iPod Touch.

Flying Without Fear has a personal introduction by Sir Richard Branson, a video-based in-flight explanation and frequently asked questions about flying. It also contains relaxation exercises and a Fear attack button for emergencies.

The course can help those with just minor anxiety when stepping on a plane and those whose anxiety reaches a level where they avoid all flying. Whoopie Goldberg had this to say about the course:

"I was a sceptic. I hadn't flown in 13 years but after doing their program, I understood that while my fear was real, there were many things I didn't know or had misinformation about, which they were able to clear up. So what happened? The program works. I now fly. It's that simple."
