If you've been thinking about upgrading to Microsoft's new Windows 7 release, it might be a good idea to wait. Early reports show an issue with syncing the iPhone to iTunes on some Windows 7 machines, specifically those running on a motherboard with an Intel P55 Express chipset.
Those having problems experience an "error 0xE8000065" which prevents the iPhone syncing with iTunes. While using a USB Hub and turning of Power Management settings helped some, there is no workaround (yet) that has fixed everyone's problems.
If you do have the problem, don't worry, your hardware isn't bad. While there might be some underlying issue with how the Intel P55 Express handles USB signals, syncing to these machines worked perfectly fine before the Windows 7 release, which demonstrates that something in the operating system changed.
There is no word yet from Microsoft on a pending patch or driver update for the issue.
