There are gun fights at the OK Corral and at Old Tucson but in the fabulous Foothills, there's the Sushi Eating Showdown with a chance to win a year of fabulous free sushi!

RA Sushi teams up with KFMA Radio to host the fourth annual sushi eating contest and listener appreciation party. A dozen sushi eating enthusiasts will compete for the title of Tucson's Sushi Showdown Champ by eating the most California rolls. It's a delightful undertaking, much better than corn dogs.

Registration must take place in person at RA Sushi on the day of the event. Registration begins at 5 p.m. and closes once 12 contestants have registered.

Contestants will compete in three heats in hopes of advancing to the final round for a chance to win a year of free sushi (12 $50 RA gift certificates), or the second place prize of a $50 RA gift certificate. For those who prefer to eat sushi at a slower pace, guests are encouraged to cheer on the competitors while enjoying food and drink specials. In celebration of KFMA’s anniversary, prizes will be given away to lucky guests throughout the event.

RA Sushi is located at 2905 E. Skyline Drive in La Encantada shopping center; 520-615-3970. The sushi eating contest and listener appreciation party is from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Friday, November 6. There is no entry fee for Sushi Showdown or listener appreciation party; regular menu prices apply.
