Ya gotta have one. And if ya don't have one, ya gotta get one! A hobby. That's what I'm talking about.
Camping can be a hobby in itself, but if you are living the camping lifestyle, what once was your hobby might become your rut. Anything done over and over, day after day, gets monotonous. The fastest way to suck the pleasure out of any activity is to do it, and only it, all the time.
Remember, your are now living in a camper, not camping. So if you needed a pastime to escape the routine before you became a full-timer, you probably need one now.
Some leisure pursuits people participate in while living a normal life have to be put aside when they make the choice to hit the road. Woodworking, for example, gets a little cumbersome. Try hauling around a table saw, a turning lathe, and a belt sander. (Unless you live in a toy-hauler.) Auto restoration could be more than difficult. You soon run out of room for collections, and body building equipment might stress your tow vehicle a little too much.
There are hundreds thousands of activities to explore and adopt as your favorite RV-living amusement. From time to time, I'll talk about a few of them here. I'm not an expert in all possibilities, so I'd love to hear from you, my readers, about how you unwind, spend your time, and take a break from the daily grind while living on the road. If you've found something really fun or unusual, or that might appeal to the masses and can be learned easily, I'd love to visit with you about it and feature you and your hobby here.
For now, in more than one part, we'll discuss one of my favorites. Gardening. So check back regularly to get and share tips on how to put that green thumb to good use.
