Alternative medicine spa retreat in Norfolk Virginia Beach area
The sleeping prophet: Edgar Cayce
Cayce, also known as 'the sleeping prophet', was an amazing man. Although he held a day job as a humble photographer, he had discovered in his youth the ability to heal himself of laryngitis by falling asleep and having someone ask him a question while he was asleep. The sleeping Cayce responded, often with astounding information. Gradually, Cayce realized he could comment on a stranger's health problems, offering diagnosis and cures that ranged from diet to spiritual solutions.
Cayce's healing work was chronicled in detailed notes kept by a stenographer during each session. He did not need to know the person who was the subject of each 'reading'. Letters poured in from people asking for his help, and he gladly gave it, never accepting a dime for his work.
The hundreds of readings, research, and cures detailed in the Cayce readings are documented and offered at A.R.E. New programs for health, wellness, and spiritual growth are also offered online and at their headquarters in Virginia Beach.
The Cayce remedies
Cayce was neither a medical doctor nor trained in medicine of any sort, yet his remedies have relieved the suffering of many. One of the most familiar remedies is the
castor oil pack. This is an external castor oil application. Typically it is used on the abdomen. Many holistic health practitioners and naturopaths recommend Cayce castor oil packs for cleansing and rejuvenation. They are also said to assist detoxification.
