Kelly Clarkson recently gave interviews in which she claimed that singer/songwriter Ryan Tedder created identical tunes for her single “Already Gone” and Beyonce’s “Halo”.
"No-one's going to be sitting at home, thinking 'Man, Ryan Tedder gave Beyonce and Kelly the same track to write to," said Clarkson. “No, they’re just going to be saying I ripped someone off. I called Ryan and said, ‘I don’t understand. Why would you do that?’”
Kelly Clarkson says that although she tried to keep the single off of her new album, but her record company Sony, released it anyway.
However, Ryan Tedder defended himself by saying that “Already Gone” is one of the best songs he has ever produced or written since “Bleeding Love” and that it is different from Halo.
"I think when people hear Already Gone they will hear what I hear - one of the greatest female vocalists on earth giving her most haunting and heart-breaking performance on a song she helped write."
"I challenge people to listen and form their own opinions," says Tedder.
Unfortunately for Ryan Tedder, the songs do sound very similar. If you listen to Clarkson’s “Already Gone”, the only thing missing seems to be the few piano notes that can be found on Beyonce’s “Halo”. Maybe a trained musician can hear the difference, but all over the internet, regular listeners agree that the songs sound almost the same.
