St. Joseph Medical Center in Towson has
put a stop to young visitors because of flu

St. Joseph Medical Center, located at 7601 Osler Drive in Towson has modified its visitor policy during the current flu season. As of now, it is not allowing children under 18 to visit the campus. The medical center's website reads:

"Please note that during the Influenza Season, our visitation policy has temporarily changed: For the protection of our patients, visitors must be older than 18 years of age and without cold/flu symptoms. Those with influenza symptoms are restricted from entering the hospital. Thank you."

According to the latest flu report from the Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, people under the age of 25 are more than half of the admissions to Maryland hospitals for influenza. Also, like other states in the nation, Maryland is reporting widespread influenza activity.
