We’ve all heard that breakfast is the most important meal of the day, but why? Breakfast, literally means “breaking the fast”. During the hours that we are asleep, our bodies are fasting. This means when we wake up we are starving for fuel. If you don’t eat breakfast in the morning you are setting yourself up for disaster.  Eating a complete breakfast has been shown to boost metabolism, increase energy and concentration and keep food cravings to a minimum.

If you think you don't have enough time for breakfast, try these 7 quick and healthy breakfast solutions:

1. Almond Butter + Banana + Raw Honey + Sprouted Grain Toast

2. Super Smoothie: Fruit (kiwi, banana, mango, berries) + Leafy Greens (kale, swiss chard) + Non-Dairy Milk (almond, rice, hemp) + Rice Protein + Flax Seed. Or skip all the ingredients and get my favorite- Vega Whole Food Optimizer.

3. On The Go Egg Cups-
Make these on a Sunday and have for the week!

4. Open Faced Goat Cheese + Vegetable (tomato, avocado, pepper, anything!) + Sprouted Grain Sandwich

5. Steel Cut Oatmeal + Blueberries + Almonds + Flax + Agave-
Put this on the stove the night before and will be ready to go in the am

6. Natural Waffles + Apple + Agave Nectar

7. Muesli + berries + Non-Dairy Milk (almond, rice, hemp)- Add raw ingredients overnight and enjoy in the morning.
