Cody’s Original Roadhouse-Food Worth Driving Out of Your Way!
Decorated with antique road junk and oversized lamps, Cody’s Roadhouse Grill was located two blocks south west of Countryside Mall on Enterprise drive. The roadhouse work of art was neon lights, tin license plates, sideshow banners, hand-painted murals, Gicle prints and a jukebox. The simple menu offered a variety of appetizers, salads, steaks, ribs, bbq, chicken steak, seafood and more. The restaurant featured free, unlimited supply of peanuts-in-a-shell and inexpensive entrées.
Kids ate free on Monday and Tuesday if they were ten and under. The Sirloin Steak was good. It was served with steamed vegetables, rolls& cinnamon butter, salad with creamy ranch dressing, and choice of starch. Wings were good and they were served right with celery sticks and blue cheese.
Music was not loud as you would hear at other roadhouse grilles. The customers were mostly families. The bar was well-organized. The bartender was very knowledgeable of the area and the menu. The booth was full with peanuts that emerged from the top of the wooden table all the way to the floor. The table was not balanced right. Every time the server stopped by, she tipped off my glass. Paper table cover did not handle these spills well. Server did not attempt to switch the paper cover.
With good company and a more efficient service, Cody’s could be the perfect spot on a Sunday family night dinner. Cody’s Roadhouse Grill was located at 26210 U.S. 19 N Clearwater, FL.
