To Michael Jackson, we give thanksCourtesy: myspace.com

Yes, the news is true.  Michael Jackson has passed at the age of 50.  To this young reporter, it's hard to understand what kind of personal impact Michael Jackson had on the world.  But by listening to his music, we do feel the passion and soul he put into his work.  Every time we play one of his songs, it never fails to satisfy.  That's why we give Michael Jackson Thanks.  We give you thanks for making music more funky during your teenage years with the original Jackson 5, waking up this country from a black and white era.  We give you thanks for making a comeback in 1979 with rock and pop into one pushing disco off the dance floor.  We give you thanks for "Thriller" and revolutionizing music videos for what they are today, and giving MTV: Music Television a place on the landscape.  We give you thanks for not giving up after "Thriller" and coming out with two more albums that impacted the pop culture scene once again.  We give you thanks for reinvigorating the pop culture scene with artists like N'Sync, Backstreet Boys, Britney Spears, and Christina Aguilera in the late 1990's so they too can become pop culture icons.  And finally, we give you thanks for convincing MTV to play music videos one more time as your passing was announced, making it feel like old times once again.  Thank you, Michael Jackson.  Your presence will be missed!!!!!!!
