Lauren Conrad did get to go to Paris, after turning it down the first time.
However, what if Lauren decided to ditch spending the summer with Jason and take the original offer to intern in Paris? How would things be different? This reporter's got some ideas about the whole situation. Lauren goes to Paris, spends the summer learning so many things about couture, working the balls, the fashion shows, etc. After Lauren's summer stint in Paris, she is appreciated even more by her boss, Lisa Love at Teen Vogue. Plus, Whitney, her co-worker will want to know more all about her time in Paris, and want to go even more. So the next summer, both Lauren and Whitney go to Paris together. Everyone who works with Lauren and are friends with Lauren want to do what she's doing, as Lauren leads the way. Another scenario is that the sex tape scandal would not have existed since Lauren chose to ditch Jason for Paris. Sure, Spencer would still be around, but he wouldn't have had any ammo to go after Lauren on. Plus, The Hills would be looked at differently, and still grow its audience knowing that Lauren's not letting anything get in her way. Even Spencer. And there would've been a need for Lo, Stephanie, Speidi, etc. And outside The Hills, Lauren's fashion empire would be growing at rapid speed, without any minor negatives in Lauren's life there to stunt it. Of course, Lauren Conrad has accomplished so much because of The Hills no matter what, but this reporter feels it could've been better. This reporter wonders who was advising Lauren as she got the Paris opportunity the first time. Jason showed no physical support whatsoever. Where was the inspiration for Lauren to make that decision? Then again, did MTV not want Lauren to go to Paris the first time because it made for better television?
