This season, anything goes, including playing with your food. Here are some unusual food ideas, in that you can't eat them. But, to the foodie or the obsessive cook, they will elicit a milion thanks for these unusual gifts.
So What Time is It? I absolutely love this wall clock! How much fun is this? The design is ever so clever, and they come in different shapes. The price is tailor made fo this economy: $15.99. Check this website for more varieties. Or if you don't want it on the wall, how about a peach desk Seiko clock? About $22.
A great Hannukah gift is this wonderful print of lucious macaroons. Actually, who doesn't love macaroons? In 16" x 14" unframed, but they claim you don't need one. Check it here.
Want something more exotic? Etsy is carrying French Artisan Petit Plat's food earrings. My favorites? The vanilla with creamy strawberry icing and candies earring studs. Cost $9.00/pair. Surgical posts extra. Wanna splurge? Found you a pair of caviar earrings. $160.
Martini anyone? Guaranteed not to make you drunk. But ever so lovely as a candle!! It's so authentic looking, someone may end up drinking wax! See it here. What a great gift or purchase for a party. Group a few in a safe corner of any room, and watch them flicker.
No kitchen can survive without eggs (or egg substitutes). Well I found something that is lovely, delicate and has no egg yolk. The one I liked most was sold out, and it was the snow flake. Have a look at some of these egg sculptures, and make someone happy. I hope the someone is extra special. While we're on the subject of eggs, why not an incredible, inedible egg gift? Chamomile scented egg-shaped soaps in an apothecary jar.
Feeling crafty? Make a Christmas tree out of pasta and bring it to the party! Here are the instructions from Better Homes & Gardens.
I love blown glass, and own several pieces that have followed me around. They are durable and make lovely centerpieces. Mine are mostly fruits & vegetables and require a dusting occasionally. They've got Murano glass fruit on E-Bay; it's worth a look and a bid.
Bonus: you don't have to wash dishes.
