Halloween is the one time of year where it’s okay to play dress up and act as someone other than yourself. It’s fun to experiment with different fabrics, accessories and makeup to become somebody/something different. However, if you’re anything like me, you like to remain somewhat fashionable when putting together a costume. This year we’re all on a Halloween budget, so I’ve put together a few economical, yet still fashionable costumes. Check them out below:
The Devil with the Blue Dress on-This is the easiest costume that I could think of. If you have a blue dress in your closet (doesn’t matter what it looks like) you’re half way done putting the costume together. Grab the dress, head to the dollar store and grab a 99 cent set of devil horns and you're set for Halloween. Not only will you be fashionable, but everyone will recognize who you are. If you want to spend a little more add a devil's tail and pitchfork. If you don’t have a dress in your closet, check out stores such as Goodwill, TJ Maxx or Marshalls to get a great deal on one!
Cowgirl-This is another cheap yet easy costume to put together. Most women have a denim skirt in their wardrobe and if not a pair of denim pants will work just as well. Pair either piece of denim with a plaid shirt (either one you buy/own or borrow from the man in your life) tucked in and a brown leather belt. The accessories are most likely the only items you’ll need to add to this costume. You can purchase cowboy hats and boots at stores like Target or Wal-Mart for very reasonable prices. Put everything together with pigtails in your hair and you’re set to go!!
God’s Gift to Men-This is the easiest and most economical costume of all. Put together any cute outfit out of your very own wardrobe. Take a cardboard box and cut out the bottom of it. Gift wrap the cardboard box. Place the wrapped cardboard box over your head and attach with string over each of your shoulders. Once the cardboard box is sturdy on your body affix a gift tag that reads “To: Men From: God!” Voila you’re all set for Halloween in a cheap, cute and clever costume!
