On this Martin Luther King's Day, the Obama and Biden families spent the day in service with Obama volunteering at the Teen's Homeless Shelter painting the inner walls of the shelter and Michelle, the Obama girls, and Jill stuffing care packages for our troops abroad.
Later in the day, Michelle and the girls attended the Children's Concert at the Verizon Center with stars like Miley Cyrus and the Jonas Brothers - both favorites of Malia and Sasha - performing for tweens and teens.
Michelle was a mom dressed in a pretty color combo of periwinkle blue and a dim lime green cardigan. A ruched belt with an art-piece buckle at waist has become one of Michelle's signature accessories. Sasha Obama was dressed in a fun print taking pics of some of her favorite performers.
It was an adoring girl's night out and the audience gave their host, Michelle Obama, a most warming reception. Not too bad for her first few days being 45 ... and include tomorrow's salute to the First Lady-to-be with an initiative for women everywhere to be accessorized in a string of pearls - not too bad at all.
Addendum: Michelle wears an Alaia belt.
