The weekend is here and it looks like it might actually rain for a change. If you need to duck indoors, there are several literary events (including a zombie tea party) around the Seattle metro area to keep you dry and to help you stock up on your beach reads for when the weather clears.
Friday, June 12th
Elliot Bay Book Co.: Seth Grahame-Smith will read and sign his new book Pride and Prejudice and Zombies: The Classic Regency Romance - Now with Ultraviolent Zombie Mayhem at 7:30 p.m. (free).
Saturday, June 13th:
Seattle Mystery Bookshop: Tim Maleeny will sign copies of his book Jump at noon (free).
Seattle Public Library (Central Branch): HistoryLink staff historians Paula Becker and Alan J. Stein share photographs and stories from their new book, Alaska-Yukon-Pacific Exposition: Washington's First World Fair at 2 p.m. (free).
Seattle Public Library (Broadview Branch): Local author and climbing author Bree Loewen will read from her book Pickets and Dead Men: Seasons on Mount Rainier at 3 p.m. (free).
University Book Store (University District): Seth Grahame-Smith will read and sign his new book Pride and Prejudice and Zombies: The Classic Regency Romance - Now with Ultraviolent Zombie Mayhem at 4 p.m. Stay for the Regency zombie tea party (free).
Third Place Books (Lake Forest Park): Seth Kantner will discuss his book Shopping for Porcupine: A Life in Arctic Alaska at 6 6:30 p.m. (free)
Elliot Bay Book Co: Harvey Schwartz will discuss his bookSolidarity Stories: An Oral History of the ILWU at 7:30 p.m. (free).
Sunday, June 14th:
Elliot Bay Book Co.: Tyler Boudreau will discuss his book Packing Inferno: The Unmaking of a Marine at 4 p.m. (free).
