I was sent this list of the top 10 most overrated novels yesterday.  It was kind of a surprising to see some of the titles on the list.  Passage to India by E.M.  Forster, Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte, and The Lord of the Rings trilogy by J.R.R. Tolkien were all on the list.  I don't consider any of these titles to be overrated.  The Da Vinci Code by Dan Brown, on the other hand, I totally agree that it is overrated.  And do not get me started on how bad the movie was.  I admit, I read the book when it first came out and even bought the book as a gift for my grandfather, but eventually the hype got to me and I began to dislike it.  Had I created a worst list in 2003 it might have made it on there.

I'll be honest.  I have not read all of the titles, maybe just four.  It looks like I'll have to update my 2009 reading list.

Check out the slideshow with all 10 of the most overrated novels.
