Growing up, my mother told me to never judge a book by it's cover.  For the most part I've followed her advice.  I rely on book reviews, word of mouth, and occasionally advance reading copies to help me choose what to read.  I will confess, occasionally I pick a book by the color of the cover.  If you were to glance at my home library you might see an abundance of red and pink covers.

Now it seems that judging a book by it's cover is acceptable.  A few websites have popped up recently that encourage readers to judge a book by it's cover: judgeby, coverboom, and the Book Design Review.

How do you choose your books?  Have you ever chosen a book by it's cover?
