Dogs and cats and animals of all sizes, shapes, and colors will be featured at "Feline, Canine, All Mine," a "pet-themed" art exhibition that opens on Thursday, September 3rd, 2009 at the Rollstone Studios in Fitchburg from 5-7pm. Members of the public and their pets are cordially invited.
The show, which will run through October 31st, 2009, spotlights the work of dozens of area artists, including Rachel Armington, Gail Bloom, Rowena Bowman, Jennifer Caldwell, Karla Cook, Lolita Demers, Deborah Dixon, Joanna Draugswold, Victor Dupuis, Elaine Hartman, Ema Kilroy, Sheila King, Richard Lagueux, Robert Lamoureux, Lori MacDonald, Susan Matusen, Aimee Mitchell, Regina O'Brien-Fortin, Maegan Porpora, David Prokowiew, Janice Queijo, Kristine Schneider, Helen Simmons, Gay Tracy, and Linda Williamson.
"This is an excellent exhibition for families with small children, as well as animal lovers," said Studio Director Anne Giancola. "Visitors are welcome to bring their pets on leashes."
As part of the Opening festivities, noted documentary photographer Reverend BLAMO (Robert Lamoureux) will be making photographic portraits of visiting animals for a fee of $10. "Bring in your cat, dog, or other pet, on a leash or in a crate, to get a photographic portrait that captures your pet's individual nature," invited Blamo. Reservations for the portraits are recommended, but walk-ins will be accepted.
