Move over, Channel 2 Auction!   Here comes the first televised Adopt-A-Thon!

Kitty Connection, a nonprofit animal rescue organization, will conduct a live televised pet adoption and telethon event on Saturday, October 3rd, 2009 from 10am to 4pm at the TV3 Medford Community Cablevision Studio.

Dozens of rescued cats and kittens--and even a few special dogs--will be onsite at TV3, and available for adoption.  "We are thrilled to have the opportunity to partner with TV3 on this special live event and to make so many of our animals available to the local Medford community," said Marie Mazzeo, President of Kitty Connection."

Viewers interested in adopting a pet featured on the program can call: 781-393-9995, or come directly to the Studio, which is located at 5 High St. in Medford.  Qualified adopters will be able to take their cat or kitten home that day, and should bring a carrier with them.  Dog adoptions will require a home visit.

All animals in the care of Kitty Connection have been spayed or neutered and are up-to-date with their vaccinations.  Renters must furnish proof that their landlord permits pets; homeowners should bring a copy of their tax or water bill.
