Author and rock'n'roll journalist Mark Spitz has put together a biography of famous rockstar and sometime actor, David Bowie. The book, called Bowie: A Biography, covers David Bowie's stellar career and his meteoric rise to fame.

From his roots as a boy named David Jones to the creation of his alter ego Ziggy Stardust to playing the Goblin King in the movie Labyrinth, David Bowie has always been a chameleon both on the stage and off of it. Spitz follows him from his humble beginnings to the heights of megastardom. Spitz covers the various stages of Bowie's life, from postwar England to the glamor of rock'n'roll and beyond.

In addition to the detailed biography of Bowie's life as a star, Spitz also writes about the profound effect Bowie had on the musical scene and the modern musical era. He also recalls his own story of growing up and listening to Bowie, adding a personal level of connection between writer and reader.

Any fan of David Bowie or Mark Spitz will thoroughly enjoy this biography, which is based on a hundred interviews with the people who know Bowie best.
