Charlie Melancon starts to throw political punches at David Vitter
Charlie Melancon may be a stone cold Dixiecrat, Dixiecrats in the south are notorious for pimping black and female voters , but he's trying to reinvent himself and his campaign may have found just the ticket to close the gap between himself and David Vitter. Charlie showed me a little something when he showed up at the New Orleans Town Hall despite initially planning on not attending, may be he's ready to get with the program. With his recent ads criticizing Vitter it looks like Charlie might actually want to win this race by taking a page out of Boaz's play book, I'm loving that.
Enter Jamie Leigh Jones, the female Halliburton employee that was drugged then gang raped by her co-workers and was not allowed to sue the company because she signed a binding arbitration agreement. Now I don't know this little hottie from the man in the moon but it sure looks like she got crapped on to me. When you hear her story it's guaranteed to raise any man's testosterone level.
A compelling story, so what''s a binding arbitration agreement, we all know what it is, you just might not have noticed it. Robert F. Brennan, Esq. says it best, Binding arbitration agreements are used by car dealers, credit card companies and the like to deprive consumers of their rights to have their disputes decided in a court of law with "binding arbitration agreements" often hidden in consumer finance and purchase contracts. You rarely see the binding arbitration agreement in anything you sign; in fact, sometimes big corporations trick consumers into "signing" binding arbitration agreements by putting them into fine-print
Consumers are often unaware they've agreed to binding arbitration. Whether the mandatory binding arbitration agreement is tucked in a paragraph of fine print or provided as a separate form, car dealerships, credit card companies, and in this case Halliburton often don't mention it until the consumer or employee is ready to sign . A few companies may "forget" to mention the arbitration requirement at all. These tactics deprive citizens of their right to make an informed decision.
Enter stage left, big bad David Vitter, who would be a great candidate for a "Republican's Gone Wild TV" show, he voted against the Franken Amendment to the Defense Authorization bill. The amendment will allow employees of defense contractors who are victims of sexual assault to have their day in a normal court, as opposed to going to arbitration where the judge is financed mainly by big business companies like Halliburton.
Does David Vitter respect women?, the Charlie Melancon camp punched David Vitter right in the mouth with this one, this is getting as good as last weeks Saints game.
I respect David Vitter's so called conservative values, but lately he's not representing any of them, is David Vitter in bed with big business too? Your losing me David, your losing me fast.
