- Houston Dynamo: Oh how San Jose wishes they could have their original team back. While the current Quakes struggle with just about everything (despite winning this week, 2-1 vs. L.A.), the former Quakes "stumbled" to a tie at home against RSL. I'll still take the Dynamo over the Quakes, and any MLS team, anyway.

- Chivas USA: Rest will do this team well. League take note.

- Seattle Sounders FC: Can't make out this team. First a tie with DC United at home; then a tie against league-worst New York on the road. But, this team is in every game they play.

- Colorado Rapids: A dominating win over DC in Colorado has the Rapids on a high. FC Dallas is in for a tough one next weekend.

- DC United: Six goals allowed in two games. That's not championship defense.

- Kansas City Wizards: This team is a solid, under-the-radar team that may cause havoc for the upper-echelon teams as the season progresses.

- Chicago Fire: Not playing good ball of late. Luckily for them - and everyone in the Eastern Conference - there hasn't been a team that wants to take hold of the conference.

- Columbus Crew: A major hiccup against FC Dallas after a big win against Chivas USA has inquiring minds wondering who the Crew really is.

- Real Salt Lake: Unbeaten this month against the likes of Colorado and Houston (as well as a win at the Galaxy) and RSL is making headway towards the playoffs.

- Toronto FC: The flipside of RSL is Toronto. This club is struggling to find an identity. Fortunately, they have a glorious opportunity at three points with a match against New York before heading to Utah to take on the aforementioned RSL on Saturday.

- New England Revolution: New England looks old and disorganized. Perhaps Coach Nichol's voice is being tuned out.

- Los Angeles Galaxy: The Galaxy have difficulty scoring. They have difficulty stopping teams. They have difficulty winning. And they have difficulty losing. They only succeed at a high rate with ending games in draws. It must have been shocking to leave the pitch for the first time on the road with a loss last weekend to the Earthquakes.

- FC Dallas: Big win over the weekend against Columbus kept FC Dallas ahead of San Jose in the standings.

- San Jose Earthquakes: At the end of every Quakes game, there seems to be an opportunity for the opposition to tie, or take the lead. The Earthquakes need to sure up their defense in end-of-the-game situations. And, an ongoing curiosity is, "Will Joe Cannon ever earn a clean sheet in 2009?"

- New York Red Bulls: Maybe there is hope after all for the Red Bulls. They managed to get a point from Seattle over the weekend. Let's see if they can have any luck on the road this week against Toronto and Columbus.
