Time Warner Cable axes DNC attack ad

Executives at Time Warner Cable agreed to cancel a negative advertising campaign produced by the DNC. According to Time Warner Vice-President Rich Ambrose, “The commercial stated that Republicans voted to abolish Medicare. We felt the statements couldn’t be supported with the substantiation the DNC provided.”
The ads, targeting six-term Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI), claimed that he and other GOP legislators sought to "kill" Medicare. RNC lawyer John R. Phillippe Jr. called this claim “objectively and patently false.”
DNC officials say that they expect to revise the ad for accuracy and restart the campaign again next week.
Derrick Plummer, a DNC spokesman, said that the DNC stands behind the cancelled ad. “We thank the Republicans for drawing more attention to their decades-long disdain of Medicare,” he said.
As of this writing, the cancelled ad is not available online.
